Iowa Buff
Iowa Buff Limestone is a Dolomitic limestone formed over several hundred
million years. It is distinguished by its uniform texture, color, and
banding, its durability and most of all by its distinct veining. These
characteristics make limestone an ideal building and landscape stone.
The color classification is Buff, which is described as a warm shade of
light to moderate gold.
The color range is very narrow which creates a singular visual impact. The
color range is further reduced by our ledging and fabrication process. The
final products are produced randomly from several blocks and slabs of stone.
The minimal color range creates a spread of color that eliminates any
patchwork pattern that can be created by many other natural stone products. |

Chilton Natural Stone
The Chilton material that is harvested from Wisconsin is a high density limestone. The Chilton quarries yield some of the most beautifully colored material in the region. Among the hues from here are: gray, blue, green, lavender, brow, yellow, buff, orange, and red. It is quarried from the earth in natural layers. These layers range from less than 1 inch in thickness to over 2 feet. Each surface of this stone has a different coloring. This makes this material some of our most attractive landscaping stone for customers who are looking for a vibrant color range. The naturally occurring layers of this material are fairly regular, though it is not as smooth and does not come in as large size pieces as our Eden material. Chilton Weathered Edge Wall Stone, Edging, Steppers, Outcropping and Flagstone are some of the staple products from these quarries. The stratified weathered edge products available from these quarries have been popular for decades. This material has also been referred to as Wisconsin Weathered Edge. Chiltons colorings and rich characteristics are continually in very high demand.

Pennsylvania Bluestone
Pennsylvania Bluestone is a unique sand stone found only in Northeastern Pennsylvania and South Central New York region, but mostly in Susquehanna County. Pennsylvania Bluestone derives its name from its typically blue color. It is marketed in two types: dimensional (architectural grade) used for treads, sill, cladding, coping, counter tops, and flagstone, which is used for walkways and patios. As sediments fossilized into rock, minerals carried by groundwater through rock deposits created other colors, including: blue, green, earth tone, and lilac or a combination of these shades. Pennsylvania Bluestone is a strong, stable stone that resists cracking and wont discolor. Pennsylvania Bluestone is highly prized as a building material and for adding architectural details because it can be easily separated into slabs of desired size.
